Seed Exchange

Welcome to the 2017 American Penstemon Society Seed Exchange! The deadline for requesting seeds is March 31, 2018.

All current members may request seed. Remember that this may be the time to renew your dues if you are not current. If you have any membership questions, please write to our membership chair at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  Kind note: please use the membership chair rather than the seedEx for membership matters such as dues payment or inquiries.

Great thanks to our faithful SeedEx donors! Although yet again reduced in number, their generosity is extraordinary and presents an amazing offering. Decreasing number of donors are a concern. Alas, this is also true with other garden society seed exchanges. Ideas to increase participation are always welcome.
INSTRUCTIONS for obtaining seed from either list and a list of 2017 donors are found at the TOP of the OLD seed list. When requesting any seed PLEASE read these instructions.
Attached are two .pdf files:

Especially if you are new to penstemons, I recommend a visit to our websites. Enjoy the wealth of articles and images on the older website or the newer site  Note - the content on the older site is being moved to the newer.
For those who are new to growing or wish to review growing tips: The APS Seed exchange represents a unique opportunity to try your hand at growing. There is an article about growing penstemon from seed at:

Also, Bob Mc Farlane's wonderful article with loads of growing tips is
available on the APS website. It is in pdf file and downloadable at:

Have a wonderful Holiday and a Penstemon-filled 2018!

All the best, Louise Parsons
