The American Penstemon Society provides two types of grants, Special Projects Grants, and Graduate Student Grants on annual basis. Usually, grant proposals are solicited in the beginning of the calendar year with funding in late spring of each year.

SPECIAL PROJECT GRANTS
The purpose of the APS Special Projects Program is to stimulate activities that promote knowledge and appreciation of Penstemons. These grants are to promote conservation of Penstemon species in the wild and to promote appreciation for Penstemons in wild and domestic landscapes. These grants are for society members (may join to submit a proposal) and are funded up to $1000.

GRADUATE STUDENT GRANT
The American Penstemon Society provides one research grant each year to a graduate student conducting research on the genus Penstemon.
